Greetings on a rather busy Sunday evening. We concluded our afternoon with a visit to the Sonrise Boarding School in Ruhengeri, Rwanda with only the Primary 6 class and the Secondary 3 class. Other students return from holiday break today and Monday, August 10. Sally and Maureen shared Jesus with the explanation of the black, red, white, blue, yellow and green beads and they made either bracelets or necklaces. On sweet girl decided to make a Jesus ring.
The children were just as creative, both girls and boys, in making necklaces, chokers and bracelents. The highlight of the kids' day along with basketball, volley ball, singing lessons, and art classes was Mark Shields getting his bagpipe out to share with the kids. A small crowd but very exciting to hear. The other higlight within the bead making class was borrowing Maureen and Sally's digital cameras. The kids were having a field day getting very creative and taking pictures of each other. Please pray that we might be able to print some of the pictures out and deliver to them on Tuesday afternoon. We did not make any promises but did promise to get them the pictures as soon as we can when we return early morning, August 16.
Everyone is healthy and well. we have had some late nights working on projects and getting ready for the next days' activities. More to come about previous days' activities including a visit to the Shiyra Hospital on Saturday and stories about long bumpy roads made of volcanic and regular rocks.
Peace and blessings to you all.
Sally
